For two decades, an ash tree stood deep in the woodlands of Dittisham, Devon. It was a quiet sentinel, watching the seasons shift, the river mist rise, and the village beyond change in ways only time could tell. Birds nested in its branches, foxes sheltered beneath its roots, and children traced their fingers over its textured bark, unaware they were touching history.
But like so many of its kind, the tree fell to ash dieback—a silent disease that crept through its veins, weakening the giant until it could stand no more. Its time in the forest had come to an end.
Yet, its story was not over.
With careful hands, I preserved its memory—capturing the intricate rings that held twenty years of storms and sunshine, stillness and song. Each delicate line in the print is a whisper of its past, a mark of its presence in the woodland it once called home.
Now, though its roots no longer grip the earth, the tree lives on—etched in ink, immortal in art. A testament to time, to nature, and to the beauty of what remains.

I carefully source all wood for my prints from trees that have naturally fallen or been removed for conservation and safety reasons. No trees are cut solely for my work.
This piece has been meticulously hand-burnished onto fine white art paper, preserving the intricate details of the tree’s life story. Each print is signed, ensuring its authenticity.
Please note: As each print is made by hand and not a photocopy there may be very slight differences in the prints.
Available sizes: A4 or A3 (Larger sizes may be available upon request).
Sustainability is at the heart of my practice. Every print is thoughtfully packaged in a compostable sleeve with a recycled insert, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
